Why is truck chiptuning?

The primary purpose of engine chiptuning is to positively alter the performance of the vehicle. In general, what we are looking for is optimization of performance or consumption. In the case of vehicles such as trucks, the benefits of chiptuning are all the more interesting.

Do more by spending less

To understand the benefits of chip-tuning for trucks, a brief reminder of the principle is needed. Chiptuning your truck’s engine generally aims to ensure the same engine performance with lower torque. In other words, you will not need to wait for the same engine torque power to achieve the same driving performance as in the past.

The immediate result of such a change is that the vehicle will consume less fuel. You must of course maintain the same style of driving as in the past. The other result is that the vehicle becomes more powerful. And such a gain in power (from 5% to 20% depending on the configuration), is a huge increase!

A question of economy

It’s not only because of the gains in traction power, that you should consider chiptuning. Just think of the haulers who manage fleets of trucks. A fuel economy on all the routes of each truck, for a fleet that may have 10, 40, or 200 vehicles, is a significant savings.

In such a case, the company will be able to make considerable gains in terms of energy consumption. Not to mention that trucks will, in some cases, withstand higher loads than non-chiptuned models.

These are the reasons behind the corporate craze for truck engine chiptuning. It’s not just a question of power or performance; it’s an economic decision that keeps businesses competitive and at the cutting edge of innovation.
