What are the advantages of a DTC cancellation?

When you start the vehicle, the DSC mode, which consists of the electronic surveillance path and antiskid, are activated by default. As for the DTC, it has to do with the gradation mode of the DSC that is activated by pressing on the ad hoc button found on the control panel.

Used exclusively in case of snow, mud or sand, the DSC allows for the vehicle to continue moving forward. On the other hand, for the fact that it allows a certain amount of slippage, this mode limits the stability for the vehicle, and consequently, the driver must drive in difficult conditions.

What is the role of DSC?

In order to understand how the DTC works, it is essential to know the role of DSC. The DSC is a very important system of electronic aid that is needed to detect all slippage starts or skids and allows to rectify anomalies in isolement braking wheel by wheel, all in reducing the engine’s power, or cutting the gas completely.

However, when the vehicle drives on very slippery surfaces, particularly because of snow or black ice, the missing grip could lead to consequent slippage, obligating the DSC to greatly lower the engine’s power, or in the worst case, removing all acceleration from the pedal of the vehicle. In this way, the DSC makes the driver lose his control of his automobile, which can no longer move forward.

Why remove the DTC?

By removign the DTC, the vehicle automatically goes in DSC mode, also called Dynamic Stability Control. In other words, by deactivating the DTC mode, the vehicle can easily detect an oversteer or understeer thanks to sensors present during the DSC activation. In this way, it is capable to brake the appropriate wheel and reduce the engine’s power in order to make the automobile more stable and bring it to its ideal path.

This is why it is imperative to remove the DTC when we drive and that the traction is sufficient, so that in that moment, the car has better stability.  In all, the DTC must constantly be deactivated, unless the vehicle drives with difficulty or not at all, like on snow, mud, sand, but equally when driving with chains.
